Governing Body
At Yalding St Peter and St Paul Church of England Primary School, the governing body is committed to supporting the school in providing a high-quality education within a caring and inclusive environment. Governors work in partnership with school leaders to help shape the strategic direction of the school and ensure that every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.
Being a school governor offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to the local community and make a positive difference to children’s education. We welcome interest from people with a wide range of backgrounds, skills and experiences. Previous experience in education is not required, as governors bring many transferable skills from their professional and personal lives.
The governing body meets regularly throughout the academic year to discuss school improvement, monitor progress and review key priorities. Governors also spend time in school meeting staff and pupils, visiting classrooms, attending school events and developing an understanding of daily school life.
All governors are encouraged to take part in training and development opportunities so they can carry out their responsibilities effectively and remain informed about current educational developments and safeguarding requirements.
Governors are appointed or elected for a four-year term and may choose to continue serving beyond this period. Working alongside the senior leadership team, staff, parents and carers, the governing body plays an important role in supporting the continued success and development of the school community.
If you would like to contact the governing body, please do so through the school office.
