Attendance and Punctuality
If your child is absent due to illness, please inform the school office before 9:00am via the absence by telephone, stating the reason for absence.
If your child needs to attend a dental or medical appointment during the school day, please notify the school in writing in advance, including details of any late arrival.
The Headteacher is unable to authorise leave of absence during term time except in exceptional circumstances.
At Yalding St Peter and St Paul Primary School, regular attendance is essential for children to achieve their full potential. Attendance and punctuality are closely monitored. Arriving late can disrupt learning for your child and others and may affect their ability to settle into the day. Any child arriving late must be accompanied to the school office by an adult and signed in, with a reason for lateness recorded.
In line with school policy, parents will be informed if their child’s attendance or punctuality falls below 96%. Letters may be sent periodically throughout the year and parents may be invited to meet with the Headteacher to discuss ways to support improvements in attendance and punctuality.
